“Printing Experiment” & more by adah stewart

titles in order of appearance:

  1. Printing Experiment
  2. Gay Liberation Now!
  3. Protect Trans Youth

the artist carved linoleum stamps by hand to block print each piece, creating unique impressions of her own lips, insect wings, pelvic bones traced from a vintage anatomical artist’s guide, and bullets. the lettering stamps are vintage materials sourced in bellingham, destined for a landfill. materials that would otherwise fade into obscurity are used to reflect on queer identity as simultaneously fleeting and forever, disposed by society and inherently preserved through existence.
